Amanda has suggested that we organize a Chung-Deh facebook. I would like to know how many of you use facebook and if you think having a Chung-Deh facebook would be worthwhile.
On another note, I've recently learned that quite a few students have their own blogs. If you would like to send me your blog address, I'd like to add them to a list of links on the Chung-Deh blog so other students can find them. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am sorry to ask a question: what is a facebook? If we use a facebook, does it mean that we put our photos on the log? Well, then I don't think that I like this idea.

To be frank, I'm not sure I am either. I guess I realize that even this blog is public to some degree, but I also feel it necessary to keep a certain amount of myself private.
Many people have talked about how we are living between two very different generations - one, older generation, that doesn't feel comfortable disclosing too much private information publicly and a second, younger generation, that is very at ease with a public Internet identity. I'm curious to know what other people think about it. Is it generational, a different way of thinking, or is it an attitude?
Hi, I'd like to say that I am there somewhere in between ... I'd like to drop few words (or many) on my blog from time to time, however, on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable to reveal my real identity. I am afraid that my boss will catch me stealing his time. Ha.. Ha.. ^-^

You don't need to put your pic on facebook, if you really don't want to. People can only go through your profile if you accept their friend request to confirm they are your classmates or friends. It's still really confidential. The best of all is that to find lost conections. For instance, you know someone from ChongDe a few semesters ago but you didn't ask her/his contact info before graduation. At this moment, you can actually find them through this group as long as you know his/her name. I actually found a lot of lost conections via facebook. ^^

Emily and I actually met each other on facebook..
There's a funny story between us... One day, there was a girl came up to talk to me in Alvin class(during break time, of coz)... She asked me if I went to a custome party a couple days ago...(And actually I did! was she psychic? Nah~~) It turned out that we had quite a few common friends and my friends posted our pics on facebook and she regonized that I was in Alvin's class with her. ^_^ Interesting, isn't it? ^_^
and see, Emily graduated from ChongDe a while ago. but i got news from her constantly... haha... I didn't even need to talk to her and knew that she didn't go to work today... haha...

I feel that facebook is the best personal networking site on the internet by far in terms of its utility and usability. This is because of its careful design that ensures both user privacy that limits users' networks to those that reflect reality, as well as the continued interest that it generates through the optional programs that can be added. Personal networking sites have become a necessity in our modern day social lives and through careful planning and design facebook has ensured that users can maximize their online social lives while maintaining a sense of order and privacy.
Yeah, Facebook is fun! We have to use it because we are modern people! Haha.
